of Walmart, Amazon, or Netflix?
Your purchase with Stepping Stones is an investment. Your money is re-invested directly
back into more meaningful, values-based movies instead of simply disappearing into
the “Hollywood machine”. Join us in uniting families everywhere into an effective
voice for meaningful family entertainment that supports the common values all parents
are teaching.
We don’t intend to be the answer to ALL of your movie needs, just those occasions
you want: an entertaining, worry-free family movie night, need good things to talk
about, or want to inspire a life lesson.
Are the movies I purchase on Stepping Stones the same versions
as on Amazon, Netflix and other retail stores?
No. The films you find on Stepping Stones are the family-friendly versions that
you can play without worry for inappropriate scenes of strong language, graphic
violence, or nudity. The movies we offer come from two sources: our own studio and
licensed from other studios. If you are purchasing one of our productions from anywhere
but Stepping Stones or Feature Family Films it is likely pirated.
We only license films from other studios that:
- We can gain the rights to edit. Certainly if a film requires more than a very small
amount of editing it is not a Meaningful Family Movie. The vast majority of our
edits revolve around language.
- Our Parent Panel assesses as worthy of being offered as a “Meaningful Family Movie”
under our label.
How can I watch the digital movies from Stepping Stones on
my TV?
Currently there is one way to watch our digital movies on your TV.
- Connect your PC or Mac computer to your HDMI-ready TV
In early 2011 you can watch our movies via Roku and soon after that via Smart TVs
and game consoles. Each of the TV and game console manufacturers has their own unique
set of requirements for content providers like Stepping Stones. The processes can
sometimes take many months, but we’re working as fast as we can to develop these
access points for your family to find us.
Why can I buy some movies in digital format (rent and download)
and not others?
Any film that we own and produce is available in all formats. Films that we license
from other studios fall into a different category. As film studios across the country
are doing their best to determine how to manage the world of digital rights and
royalties (that protect the industry professionals) we receive a variety of answers
when we ask about offering their films in digital format.
Our goal is to make all films on the site available in all formats. We’re working
each day to reach that goal for our customers.
